1950 s retro furniture

Welcome to the 1950s, the era of Sock Hops and Soda Fountains. Entering A-Town feels like stepping through a time machine, taking you back to simpler times when portions were plentiful and the diner was the place to meet and socialize. From the checkered floors to the vintage hanging lamps, this venue showcases the iconic mid-century charm almost lost in today’s fast-paced culture. Owners Robert and Melinda Davis took over the establishment in 2022, aiming to maintain the small-town feel and secure the diner's place in local Atascadero culture. Soon to be featured on America’s Best Restaurants, A-Town serves generous portions of classic American breakfast dishes and standard burger fare for lunch and dinner.

DESIGN

The design of the space is purely vintage, with authenticity being the keystone of the decor. There is simply

not a modern furniture piece in the restaurant; each chair, table, and booth accurately reflects the timeless look

the owners were trying to achieve.

The diner-standard black and white checkered tiles chaotically contrast with the crimson red of the chairs and booths, creating a vibrant and dynamic visual experience. The creme-colored tables with flashy metal edges provide a perfect neutral balance, harmonizing the bold color scheme. Chrome accents catch the sunlight that pours in through large windows, reflecting glimmers of light that enhance the retro atmosphere. This interplay of colors and materials sets the stage for a unique and memorable trip through history, inviting guests to immerse themselves in the nostalgic ambiance of this classic 1950s diner.
